Snow in Autumn

I saw this quilt in a mail-order catalog and loved it so much I wanted to try to make it.
Lots of autumn colors and a large variety of patterned fabrics were used, the combination of these fabrics screams of autumn.  The catalog quilt was bordered with a sawtooth edge, but not having a pattern and not being a mathmatition I decided to do the vines with leaves.
I found a snowflake stencil and put the “snow’ in the muslin squares. In the borders I used a stipple type quilting.
This quilt is machine pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted. I used cotton batting and muslin backing.
