I will call this my Salvation Army quilt!
I occasionally take a quick 15-minute run around our local Salvation Army store before I go bowling on Thursday mornings. I would usually find something, such as books, Santa mugs, vintage handkerchiefs, but I had never made “A Great Find!”, until the day I found this quilt. It was hanging on the rack with the blankets and bedspreads but it stood out like a brand new penny. In fact it was brand new, never used, the pencil markings the quilter had made still visible. I wasn’t crazy about the color choice but when I saw the quilting, I knew that this quilt was going home with me.
I paid $75 for this quilt.
This quilt won first place in the Saxonburg
Art festival in September of 2001, in the antique quilt category.
